What do you charge to diagnose a problem on my car ?

 

Our call out charge starts at £55*, that gets you up to an hour of our time. We can then quote for the work required. Assuming you wish to go ahead, we order the parts and come back at a suitable time to complete the work, or complete it straight away depending on available time and parts..  *View our Rates page for further information on our rates.

Can I supply the parts and you fit them ?

 

We do not fit customer supplied parts. There are some exceptions, ie classic cars. Please call us to discuss.

My car is broken down at the roadside, can you come and fix it ?

 

We are able to carry out some roadside repairs, dependent on the location/type of road you are situated on. In addition, South Autos operates a towing / recovery facility, depending on area. Please call 07840 404676.

I have a few vehicles that need maintaining, can you give us discount ?

 

Our prices are already very reasonable, and remember we break the labour into half hours after the first hour - However, If you have over 5 vehicles, we can arrange discount for regular work maintaining and servicing your fleet. Please call us on 07840 404676 to discuss your needs.

Can you switch out service lights ?

 

Yes, our diagnostics machine switches out the service light after we have serviced your car.

Are you insured ?

 

Yes, we have full public liabilty insurance.

What do you charge to service my car ?

 

We tailor the price of the service for your indivual car. Parts vary greatly in price from make to make and model to model, even for the same size engine cars. As such we don't do fixed price servicing where you could be paying over the odds! - Instead,  we get a price for the specific parts, and then give you a price that will make you happy !!

I'd prefer my car to go into a garage for the work, can you do that ?

 

Yes, we also offer a collect and return service. This is a great convenient service whereby we take your car to the garage and return it to you when completed. This service includes most mechanical repairs, all at great rates. We collect and return for free, and we don't charge for our travel time. The hourly rate for this great service is £65.

Do you work on Sunday ?

 

Yes, our mobile mechanic service is available on a Sunday subject to availability and prior booking.

You estimated £125 for the labour, but the the bill came to £150, why is this ??

 

Our quotes, or estimates, are based on industry 'book times'.

In an ideal world these times and prices would apply for the relevant vehicles regardless. However, the condition of the individual motor vehicle and mileage can vary greatly - in turn this can effect the condition of the components and/or fixings involved in the removal and replacement of the required parts, as such the total labour hours ( and hence labour charge ) can vary.

My car is still in it's main dealer warranty period and I'd like it serviced. If you service it will it void my warranty ??

 

No, not at all, as long as we use oe (original equipment) parts and lubricants specified by the car manufacturer.
