Use of Personal Data and Information.
Patrol Services Ltd take personal and private data supplied by you very seriously, as such conform to laws and rules governing the use of data we receive.
Your personal data i.e. name, address, postcode, phone numbers, email address, and vehicle details are for our use only, and will not be sold to another party i.e. website, advertiser or other 3rd party.
Data may be used, so that our suppliers and associated mechanics or garages can quote for the work you have requested, but please be assured this is carried out within the privacy laws and regulations that apply and will require the suppliers and garages to protect the information they receive and use it only for the purposes provided.
Sometimes your data may be used by South Autos Ltd for future marketing purposes, i.e. to inform you of offers, inform you when your next service is due, inform you when your next MOT is due. South Autos Ltd will endeavour to record each customer’s permission to exercise this proposition. Alternatively you have the right to request that no marketing correspondence is used by South Autos Ltd.

Addresses used to market Garage in a Van and its associated companies displayed on this website, and addresses for The Mini Mechanic, VolvoPro and EGR Wizards, may not be the companies trading address.

Bookings and cancellation.
Please note well -
1 (a) Bookings cancelled less than 24 hours before the appointment will be charged at a rate of 20% of the applicable estimated labour time. In addition a handling fee on parts may be chargeable, see section 1 (c).
1 (b) Jobs booked less then 24 hours in advanced, similarly as section 1 (a), will be chargeable at a rate of 20% of the applicable estimated labour time if cancelling any time prior to appointment after booking has been confirmed. In addition a handling fee on parts may be chargeable, see section 1 (c).
1 (c) A handling fee may be charged on parts where the appointment is cancelled as per section 1 (a) and 1 (b) above.
Parts and guarantees.
All parts come with a manufacturers guarantee (usually one year) which we honour. In addition, we provide a labour guarantee for said parts. Parts and labour guarantee only applies to New parts supplied and fitted by ourselves.
Some parts come with more than a year guarantee, for example batteries. Please note, you must keep your receipt and be able to produce the receipt when requesting a replacement part/labour. In addition, guarantees are not transferable to new keepers.
If in the unlikely event that a faulty part has been fitted to your car, we will replace the part without question as long as the manufacturers warranty is in date, Usually one year.
Please note, parts will not be refunded/exchanged if they have been interfered/tampered with by any party other than representatives of Garage in a Van / South Autos Ltd. In all cases if you suspect a part supplied and fitted by us to be faulty, you should contact Garage in a van, who will in turn inspect the part and where appropriate replace the part at no cost to yourself.
Any evidence of tampering with the part by any party other than a Garage in a Van / South Autos Ltd. representative, will render the warranty Null and Void.
Customer supplied parts
Parts supplied by customers will not be guaranteed by us in any way, in addition, no labour guarantee will be provided.
Garage in a Van / South Autos Ltd. may refuse to fit parts supplied by customers if the background/source of the parts cannot be verified. In addition we will refuse to fit parts that are not an appropriate application to your vehicle.
We reserve the right to apply a surcharge for the fitting of customer supplied parts. (This is because our business model takes into account profit for parts supplied and fitted. In cases where revenue is coming only from labour rates, a surcharge may be applied in order to make the job viable.)
A call out fee will be applicable if we attend to fit parts which turn out to be incorrect/not appropriate or incorrect for the required application in any way. NB Our professional opinion and 'say' is final.
When fitting a new battery, as a matter of procedure, we will automatically take away your old battery for recycling - Please let us know prior to fitting if you require to keep the old/original battery. Thank you.
The title/ownership of all goods/components supplied remains with South Autos Ltd. or our relevant contractor until the invoice has been paid in full.
We reserve the right to hold keys, and, or vehicles until payment has been settled in full. Fees will apply for late payment on invoices.
If a vehicle has been returned to a customer on the understanding that payment will be forthcoming - failure to make payment will result in the car being towed to our workshop, in order that we can remove the unpaid components.
Fees may be chargeable for recovery, storage, and excess time.
Vehicles impounded will be returned within 36 hours after payment is cleared.
Payments over £500 may be made using bank transfer, unless discussed prior.
Work being carried out that totals over £700 must be paid 50% up front.
